Given the many thousands of supplements available on the market today, it’s understandable that we’re often asked if BioSuperfood is really all that different from everything else out there. We appreciate the skepticism, because if you haven’t experienced for yourself the remarkable healing benefits of BioSuperfood, it’s easy to be skeptical. 

How is BioSuperfood different? Primarily in three ways: superior nutrition, increased nutrient absorption, and government-certified purity and quality.

Government-Certified Purity and Quality

To ensure the strictest quality control and to prevent potential exposure to environmental pollutants and toxins, the micro algae in BioSuperfood are grown, not in the wild or in open lagoons, like many other algae, but in enclosed hydroponic bioreactors in volcanic thermal spring water on the remote Kamchatka Peninsula in Siberia. This pristine, nutrient-dense water is piped from 2,000 feet below the surface of the earth and the growing algae are never exposed to the atmosphere.

BioSuperfood formulas contain only the four micro algae mentioned above and are 100% whole food, organic, raw, kosher, and vegan. They include no other ingredients and are manufactured without the use of excipients (i.e., bulking agents, fillers, or diluents), which can interfere with digestion and absorption. These micro algae are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, or feed additives. Once harvested, the algae are exported to Canada for blending, encapsulating, and bottling under strict quality assurance.

Unlike the United States, Canada requires manufacturers and distributors of natural health products (NHPs) to obtain a product license. To do so, an applicant must provide detailed information about the product to Health Canada (Canada’s “FDA”), including medicinal ingredients, source, dose, potency, non-medicinal ingredients, and recommended use(s). Once assessed and determined to be safe, effective, and of high quality, Health Canada issues a product license along with a Natural Product Number (NPN) or Homeopathic Medicine Number (DIN-HM). This number lets consumers know that a product has been reviewed and approved by Health Canada and determined to be safe, free of toxicity, and that it contains what it claims to contain.

BioSuperfood has been continually certified by Health Canada to be manufactured according to Health Canada’s food safety quality standards for NHPs, which meet the requirements of the U.S. FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs) for dietary supplements. Additionally, each of the three BioSuperfood formulas for human consumption was awarded an individual NPN in 2007. Few, if any, other algae products have ever been subject to such a stringent level of inspection and scrutiny.
