In June 2018, Kellogg Company voluntarily recalled affected boxes of its popular Honey Smacks cereal due to credible reports that the cereal was the cause of an outbreak of Salmonella Mbandaka poisoning. Kellogg was prompted to announce the recall after being contacted by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about illnesses reported to them. The outbreak resulted in at least 73 people infected from 31 states, with 24 people being hospitalized. No deaths were reported.
At the same time, food scientist Mike Adams, known popularly as “The Health Ranger” and also the founder of the Consumer Wellness Center Laboratory (CWC Labs), announced that the mass-spec analysis lab had determined that a very large batch of pumpkin seed protein contained potentially deadly levels of bacteria, including Salmonella. Adams took to the Internet not only to issue a warning about the discovery, informing the public that this very same protein is being sold across the country in various protein powder mixes, but also to raise the alarm that the natural products industry suffers from a very serious problem with a lack of testing.
Given this news, we thought it opportune to reassure our readers that few, if any, other algae products have ever been subject to such a stringent level of inspection and scrutiny as BioSuperfood bio-algae concentrates.
The micro algae in BioSuperfood is of unmatched quality and purity
Not only is BioSuperfood very likely the most potent algae product on the market today, it’s also just as likely the most pure. Made from the four most nutrient-dense algae known — and nothing else, i.e., bulking agents, fillers, etc. — these micro algae are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, or feed additives.
Moreover, to ensure the strictest quality control and to prevent potential exposure to environmental toxins, these micro algae are grown in enclosed hydroponic bioreactors in volcanic thermal spring water on the remote Kamchatka Peninsula in Siberia. This pristine, nutrient-rich water is piped from 2,000 feet below the surface of the Earth and is never exposed to the atmosphere. Once harvested, the algae are exported to Canada for blending, encapsulating, and bottling under strict quality assurance. Every lot (not just random selections) is tested for bacteria, herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants (including radiation) before encapsulation.
(Side note: BioSuperfood inventor Dr. Michael Kiriac is a pioneer in the algae industry and continues to consult other growers about advanced alga-growing technologies, which he invented.)
BioSuperfood is certified by Health Canada
Unlike the United States, Canada requires manufacturers of natural health products (NHPs) to obtain a product license. To do so, an applicant must provide detailed information about the product to Health Canada (Canada’s “FDA”), including: medicinal ingredients, source, dose, potency, non-medicinal ingredients, and recommended use(s). The safety and efficacy of NHPs and their health claims must be supported by proper evidence so consumers and Health Canada know that the products are actually safe and effective.
Once Health Canada has assessed a product and decided that it is safe, effective, and of high quality, it issues a product license along with an eight-digit Natural Product Number (NPN) or Homeopathic Medicine Number (DIN-HM). This number lets consumers know that a product has been reviewed and approved by Health Canada and determined to be safe, free of toxicity, that it contains what it claims to contain, and that it will remain available as a natural product in the years to come.
BioSuperfood bio-algae concentrates have been continually certified by Health Canada to be manufactured according to Health Canada’s food safety quality standards for NHPs, which meet the requirements of FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs) for dietary supplements. Moreover, each of the three BioSuperfood formulas has been awarded an individual NPN:
BioSuperfood Formula f1k Base
Health Canada Natural Product Number: NPN 80105247
BioSuperfood Formula f2k Core
Health Canada Natural Product Number: NPN 80105246
BioSuperfood Formula f3k Forte

Again, we reiterate: few, if any, other algae products have ever been subject to such a stringent level of inspection and scrutiny. We’d also like to stress that we are Authorized Resellers of BioSuperfood. This means that we work directly with BioAge, Inc., the sole distributor of BioSuperfood in the United States. Any authorized reseller of BioSuperfood receives it directly from BioAge and, if selling online, is required to do so strictly through their own private website (just like this one), which must be approved by BioAge. Authorized Resellers are prohibited from selling BioSuperfood on marketplace sites such as Amazon, eBAY, Etsy, etc., and BioSuperfood formulas offered for sale on these sites have been listed there in direct violation of this policy and may be expired or counterfeit. You can be confident that Peak Health Supplements abides by all BioAge-mandated Authorized Reseller policies.
As always, we welcome your comments and questions!
