Just last week, Kellogg Company voluntarily recalled affected boxes of its popular Honey Smacks cereal due to credible reports that the cereal was the cause of an outbreak of Salmonella Mbandaka poisoning. Kellogg was prompted to announce the recall after being contacted by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about illnesses reported to them.
